Mathews says she previously was a partner in Adams and Reese in Houston. She is now a member of Baker Donelson’s financial institutions advocacy group.
After graduating from St. Mary’s University School of Law in 1984, she began her career at Jenkens & Gilchrist as a real estate attorney, Mathews says. But she says that after the downturn in the real estate market, she began handling more litigation and has been doing bankruptcy work since 1987.
Mathews says she represents secured creditors, trade creditors, creditors’ committees and Chapter 11 bankruptcy trustees.
Her activities outside Baker Donelson include serving on the board of directors for the Spring Branch Education Foundation.
