Thompson & Knight has announced the addition of Ida G. Wahlquist-Ortiz as an attorney in its intellectual property practice group in Dallas.
Wahlquist-Ortiz says she began working at the firm Feb. 4 and is a patent litigator.
She says she is a 2010 graduate of American University Washington College of Law and speaks English, Spanish, French and Italian.
Wahlquist-Ortiz says that, during law school, she served as a clerk intern for Chief Judge Paul R. Michel of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. In 2011-2012, she was a law clerk for Judge Vanessa Ruiz in the District of Columbia Court of Appeals, she says.
Music is one of Wahlquist-Ortiz’s passions. “I play the violin and I love the opera,” she says.
