Michelle Alcala (pictured), shareholder in Austin-based Graves Dougherty Hearon & Moody, was notified in January that she has been board certified in labor and employment law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.
Alcala says she has a litigation practice that mostly focuses on defending employers in employee discrimination claims, pay or leave disputes and other matters. She says she also counsels with clients on termination, leave and other employment issues and, in addition, has a commercial litigation practice.
After graduating from Harvard Law School in 2003, Alcala says, she began practicing at the former firm of Jenkens & Gilchrist. She says she joined Graves Dougherty in Oct. 2004.
