Cristina Corbo Jennings (pictured) joined Schmoyer Reinhard in San Antonio on Jan. 1 as senior counsel and will help the firm develop a practice on the federal Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) and employee benefits.
Jennings says that, among other things, she works with employers on legal matters involving employee benefit plans, including plan administration and matters related to ERISA and other applicable laws.
Before joining Schmoyer, she was an in-house counsel for the Valero Cos. in San Antonio, managing the labor and employment group within the legal department. Jennings says she worked at Valero for more than eight years and had started her legal career as an associate with Hunton & Williams in Dallas.
Jennings says she graduated cum laude from St. Mary’s University School of Law in 1996. She says that while in law school, she was on the staff of St. Mary’s Law Journal and also was an intern for then-Texas Supreme Court Justice James A. Baker.
Her activities outside Schmoyer include serving on the board of directors for Girls Inc. of San Antonio, Jennings says.
