Christine Powers (pictured) joined Kane Russell Coleman & Logan in Dallas on Jan. 2 as an associate with the firm’s litigation section.
Powers, a 2006 graduate of Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law, says she formerly worked at Hiersche, Hayward, Drakeley & Urbach in Addison. She says her practice focuses on personal injury defense and commercial litigation.
Powers says that prior to attending law school, she interned at the White House for former first lady Laura Bush, working in the projects office supporting reading and early childhood cognitive development. One of Powers’ vivid memories is of being at the White House on Sept. 1, 2011. “It was a pretty scary day,” she says.
While in law school, she interned for 101st District Judge Jay Patterson in the summer of 2004, Powers says.
Her activities outside her firm include serving on the junior board of Big Brothers Big Sisters in Dallas. “I’ve been a big sister eight years,” she says.
