Jerry Young (pictured), a director at Coats Rose Law Firm in Houston, says he will attend the American Board of Trial Advocates’ annual national board meeting Jan. 24-26 in Petersburg, Florida, as a new board member.
Young says that the Houston chapter of ABOTA elected him to the national board.
“I was honored to be selected,” he says. “I’m looking forward to it.”
Young says ABOTA’s membership includes members of the Texas Trial Lawyers Association and the Texas Association of Defense Counsel. Its main purpose, he says, is to preserve the right to trial by jury.
Young, a 1992 graduate of South Texas College of Law, says he is board certified in personal-injury trial law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. He says he represents plaintiffs or defendants in complex commercial matters.
