Austin-based Hay Compere announced Jan. 2 that John A. Hay III, a founding and managing member of the firm, has been named to the Real Estate Council of Austin (RECA) Inc. board of directors.
Hay (pictured) says RECA 2013 president Nikelle Meade nominated him for the position and that the board confirmed him in December 2012. He is scheduled to attend his first board meeting Jan. 16, Hay says.
According to Hay, RECA is a nonprofit corporation with a membership of almost 1,500. It’s an organization that reaches all parts of real estate in Austin, he says.
Hay says that prior to founding Hay Compere in January 2010, he spent eight years in the mortgage industry, most recently as a managing member of Level Funding LLC in Austin, and also held a real estate license for more than three years. He is a 2008 graduate of the University of Texas School of Law.
His practice involves, among other things, handling real estate deals and commercial transactions, Hay says.
