The South Texas College of Law board of directors elected Randall O. Sorrels (pictured), a partner in Houston’s Abraham Watkins Nichols Sorrels Agosto & Friend, to the board at its Dec. 13 meeting.
Sorrels, a personal injury attorney, says he is a 1987 graduate of STCL. He says he will assume his responsibilities on the board after Jan. 1, 2013.
“I’m a huge supporter of the school,” Sorrels says. “It’s a great school.” Sorrels says that this fall he gave STCL a gift to renovate one floor in the building where Abraham Watkins has its offices to house the school’s legal clinics. The renovated floor provides space for the 10 clinics, with room for more, says Sorrels, who declines to disclose the amount of the gift to STCL. The clinical facilities have been renamed the Randall O. Sorrels Clinics, he says.
Tampa, Fla., criminal defense attorney Frank de la Grana, a 1977 STCL graduate, also has been elected to the school’s board.
