Baker, Donelson, Bearman, Caldwell & Berkowitz announced Nov. 20 the addition of shareholder Mark A. Mathews and associate Kali Jackson in the firm’s Houston office.
Mathews says he joined Baker, Donelson’s oil and gas team after a brief stint at Denbury Resources Inc., an independent oil and gas company based in Plano. He says he previously was a partner in Haynes and Boone in Houston.
Mathews, a 1990 graduate of South Texas College of Law, says he joined Baker, Donelson to help develop the firm’s energy practice in its Houston office.
“I’ve got over 25 years of experience in the oil and gas industry,” he says.
Mathews says he has a transactional practice representing clients involved in exploration and production.
Jackson joined Baker, Donelson’s advocacy department where she says she is assisting with business litigation.
Jackson says she graduated cum laude from South Texas College of Law in May and served as the articles editor of the Texas Journal of Business Law. She says she was a law clerk for Baker, Donelson from October 2011 to early 2012 and joined the firm as an associate on Sept. 4.
