Four Texas firms are on a short list of firms “best-suited” to handle intellectual property litigation, in the view of in-house lawyers who participated in the BTI Litigation Outlook.
Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld of Dallas, Baker Botts of Houston, and Dallas firms Haynes and Boone and Locke Lord are among 52 firms on the “Honor Roll” of IP Litigation Powerhouses.
The “Powerhouses” are Alston & Bird, Jones Day and Reed Smith. Those are the firms in-house lawyers participating in the survey “consider to be best-suited to helping” in the area of IP litigation.
Another seven firms — none in Texas — are IP “Standouts,” according to the new litigation survey by BTI Consulting Group Inc.
The survey is based in part on more than 350 telephone interviews conducted from March 22 through Aug. 3 with general counsel, heads of litigation and other in-house lawyers who report directly to general counsel.
Tex Parte reported earlier that Texas firms Bickel & Brewer of Dallas and Bracewell & Giuliani of Houston are among the 38 U.S. firms on the “Honor Roll” of the most-feared firms.
