David Keltner, a partner in Kelly Hart & Hallman in Fort Worth who heads the firm’s appellate practice, is the recipient of the first Gregory S. Coleman Outstanding Appellate Lawyer Award.
The award honors Coleman, a former Texas solicitor general who died in a private plane crash in 2010.
Underwritten by Coleman’s firm, Yetter Coleman of Houston, the award recognizes an attorney who "exhibits an outstanding appellate practice and strong moral compass while maintaining a strong commitment to providing legal services for the underserved and mentoring of young lawyers."
Keltner did not return a telephone call seeking comment.
Paul Yetter, a partner in Yetter Coleman, says Keltner is the “perfect” first recipient of the award. “He is a unique combination of professionalism, legal excellence and service, wrapped up in a person that everybody admires and respects,” Yetter says.
