Lawyers who have hearings scheduled today or tomorrow in Dallas County Probate Courts No. 2 or No. 3. will be looking at nothing but a locked door. The basement of the building where those courts are located flooded last night, causing the power to the building to be cut off. Dallas County Administrator Darryl Martin says an 8 inch-water pipe burst last night, causing the flood. Martin expects the Dallas County Records Building to be closed for at least two or three days until the basement is dried up and the power is restored to the building. With no power in the building, the county’s computer system and website are also down, Martin says. “The major thing that is going on is we have no services right now. No marriage licenses or deeds are being recorded. We are working things out manually,’’ Martin says. There were no court records stored in the basement, Martin says.
