Bob Black (pictured, left), managing shareholder in MehaffyWeber in Beaumont, and Debbie Bullion (pictured, right), a partner in Gascoyne & Bullion in Sugar Land, will face off in an election in April to become the next president-elect of the State Bar of Texas. The State Bar announced the names of the candidates in a news release issued today. Black, who served as 2006-2007 chairman of the State Bar board of directors, says his No. 1 priority if elected will be to help lawyers find jobs in today’s difficult economy. Black says he wants to develop the State Bar’s Career Center online by aggressively courting employers to use the Bar’s Web site to post job opportunities and attracting lawyers to search the site for possible employment. In addition, Black says he wants the State Bar to provide free coaches and mentors — including lawyers and other professionals — to advise lawyers in developing their practices. “The biggest problem facing us right now is this legal recession,” he says. Black is a 1980 graduate of Texas Tech University School of Law and currently focuses his practice on mediation, arbitration and civil litigation. Bullion, who did not immediately return a telephone call for comment, served on the State Bar board from 2006 through 2009. A 1984 graduate of St. Mary’s University School of Law, Bullion has had a civil litigation practice for the past 25 years. Voting will begin April 1, and State Bar officials will announce the election results April 30. The winning candidate will serve as president of the State Bar from June 2011 until June 2012.

I'd be interested in hearing. The TOS seems rather clear that it is not unless expressly approved by Amazon. I guess if the library got it in writing then they would be ok.
