Plaintiffs lawyer W. Mark Lanier's annual holiday parties have become the stuff of Houston cultural lore. And this year's extravaganza will be no exception. Although he has yet to send his invitations, this year's musical act will be none other than New Jersey 's own Bon Jovi, the band, including its leader and namesake Jon Bon Jovi. Lanier, founder of the Houston-based Lanier Law Firm, says he already has signed the contract with the band, which will perform at the party on Dec. 13. Last year's performer was teen sensation Miley Cyrus. Recently, rumors were swirling that former Beatle Paul McCartney would headline the 2009 party. Lanier says he attempted to get McCartney, and "his people still haven't said 'no,' " so Lanier holds out hope that McCartney may be available to play next year.
