For the past three years, I’ve been writing a feature in Texas Lawyer called “This Old Courthouse” about the history of what usually are beautiful and unique halls of justice. Texas is known for its wonderful and inspiring courthouses -- they’re everywhere. But let’s face it, some of them aren’t that great. And frankly, some of them are downright ugly. For example, the Culberson County Courthouse in far west Texas looks like a Pizza Hut. And the Nacogdoches County Courthouse in east Texas looks like a motel. So I’d love to hear your suggestions for what you think is our state’s ugliest courthouse. E-mail me at john.council@incisivemedia.com with your tips and opinions. And don’t bother clueing me in on Dallas’ George L. Allen Sr. Courts Building. I stare at that monstrosity every day.
