State Sen. Royce West, D-Dallas, says the Legislature included $5 million in the state’s 2010-2011 budget to start the University of North Texas at Dallas law school. West, a partner in West & Associates in Dallas, says the UNT system also should be able to find some monies within its own budget to defray any costs that it might encounter in setting up the law school in the old Dallas city hall. “We’re moving forward,” West says. “I expect the first class to be in the fall of 2011.”
