The State Bar of Texas has elected as its next president-elect an Austin attorney whose goals include providing high-quality, cost-effective continuing legal education to lawyers struggling in the current economic hard times. State Bar officials announced late today that Terry Tottenham (pictured) defeated Dallas attorney Rhonda Hunter for the post. Tottenham is the partner-in-charge of Fulbright & Jaworski’s Austin office and head of the firm’s pharmaceutical and medical device litigation group. He will serve as State Bar president from June 2010 until June 2011. Tottenham and Hunter did not immediately return telephone calls seeking comment. The State Bar also announced the election of the following to the Bar board of directors: Mark G. Daniel of Fort Worth; Allan K. DuBois of San Antonio; and Travis J. Sales, Damon D. Edwards and Bethew “Bert” Jennings III of Houston.
