OK, so you missed the South By Southwest music festival. You missed my speech at the Texas Association of Defense Counsel’s annual meeting. But you’ve got no excuse to miss Austin’s next great March event: the State Bar of Texas Asian Pacific Interest Section (APIS) 13th Annual CLE and Retreat, which will be held this weekend. This year the APIS is partnering with the Austin Asian American Bar Association to co-host a dinner at the UT Golf Club on Saturday. The dinner theme is “Celebrating the Advancement of Texas Asian Pacific American Corporate Counsel.” Al Li, associate counsel at Zimmer Inc. in Austin, says there will be 29 Asian Pacific American in-house attorneys from all over Texas attending the event. And the dinner’s keynote speaker is Lawence P. Tu, senior vice president and general counsel of Dell Inc.
