Miley Cyrus to perform at Lanier holiday shindig

Lanier party invite One of the hottest tickets in Houston this time of year is an invite (pictured) to the Lanier Law Firm’s family-oriented holiday party, which features major entertainers. This year is no exception, with teen sensation Miley Cyrus headlining the show. Cyrus, star of the "Hannah Montana" television series, is a big draw in Houston. When she appeared at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo in March for a Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus concert, she set an attendance record. This year the Lanier firm’s Christmas Cheer and Charity event, which features “Texas Bar-B-Q, Fajitas and Amusements,” is doubling as a charitable fundraiser. W. Mark Lanier and his wife, Becky, ask partygoers to bring school supplies for children in Guatemala, or to donate money that can be used to buy items for schools there. Lanier, founder of the firm, and his family were in Guatemala when Hurricane Ike struck Texas in September, and he said then that he was thinking about using the well-attended party as a way to help schoolchildren in Guatemala.
