Matrimonial firms to tie the knot

Koons, Fuller, Vanden Eykel & Robertson, the largest family law boutique in Texas, will soon get a little bigger. On July 1, the firm, which has offices in Dallas, Plano and Southlake, will merge with Denton firm Gregory & Conner. The merger will boost Koons, Fuller to 22 lawyers in four offices. Ike Vanden Eykel, managing partner of Koons, Fuller, says the merger “finishes the circle” so that Koons, Fuller will have offices in the four major counties of the Metroplex. He says merger talks began in January, after Southlake partner Heather King introduced him to Gregory & Conner partner Charla Bradshaw Conner. “It just all made sense, and it all fit perfectly,” Vanden Eykel says. Mike Gregory and Alyson Gregory Richter are the other lawyers from Gregory & Conner. Conner could not be reached for immediate comment, but Gregory says the combination will be a “very positive thing” for both firms and their clients. “We have things to offer to them as far as a presence in Denton County, and they have things to offer to us, as a presence in Dallas, Tarrant and Collin counties,” he says. He says he’s looking forward to having access to a large group of lawyers for big, complicated family law cases.
